Poetry Slam

Celebrate young poets at this year’s Appalachian WordFest Poetry Slam. Coordinated by Sevier County teacher Mr. Jeff Williams, this annual event gives students the chance to compete live with original spoken word poetry.

This year, students also have the opportunity to enter the Sevier County Youth Poet Laureate Contest – the winner of which can advance on to the National Youth Poet Laureate competition championed by Urban Word.

The Appalachian WordFest Poetry Slam and Sevier County Youth Poet Laureate Contests begin at 8:00 am on March 1 in Ballroom A.
